The Starfish Story

As the old man walked the bench at dawn, he noticed a boy ahead of him picking up starfish and flinging them into the sea. Finally catching up with the boy, he asked why he was doing this. The answer was that the stranded starfhish would die if left until the morning sun. "But the beach goes on for miles and there are millions of starfish," said the old man. "How can your effort make any difference?" The boy looked at the stafish in his hand and threw it safely into the waves. "It makes a difference to this one," he said.

Happy Teachers' Day! Though they give me hell at times, teaching loyang sec was definitely a pleasant and wonderful experience. and it was really thoughtful of the kids whom i vaguely remember, to give me gifts. will sure miss them.:)

and not forgetting Miss Farah Zafirah who made the experience superbly fun!:)))

for the love of God, will you keep it shut so that the world can live in a better place? there are times i feel like pushing them off the building while there are times they are like honey-coated chocalate candy. and todayyyyy was the most challenging one indeed. 3 rowdy classes in the hall and 1 teacher to manage them. it was H.E.L.L. we have:

1) a couple of monkeys playing "catching" in the hall.
2) a woven with raucous laughter.
3) a group of irritating flies who just won't buzz off after being told repeatedly.

so. what did i do? i showed the meaniest and the fiercest side of me that i never thought i ever had. and THAT felt like the 2 looooongest and moooost tiring period ever in the history of relief teaching. thank god i have 2 more days to go and my hunch is that i'm reliefing lower sec again. what a let-down. and don't get me started on my tuition kids. macam monyet kena belacan satu satu tau. but, PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE, boy!

and did you watch Siti's wedding on Tv3? that was absolutely amazing. a garden-like theme, kids of all ages dancing and ballerinas!!! how fairytale is that??? i would looove to attend the wedding. but its such a waste that i have to teach a 9 year-old boy maths and eng at loyang valley yesterday night. haha! but oh wells, i'm happy for her though the media and manny ppl think the otherwise. all the best siti haha

interesting facts for today:

1) a 16 year-old part-time actor who is a student earns $450 per episode for the comedy series, Police and Thief.

2) a 3 year-long(and still going strong) relationship comes with a HUGE price. additional 15KG to the original weight, 3 years ago; due to excessive happiness and definitely nothing to worry about.

3) a 15 year-old student who asked for the fierce female teacher's handphone number and email immediately after being reprimanded by her.

and manny manny more interesting facts to come...

yeap. it's a singing competition. not a popularity contest. or the best "head-turner" contest. i think most of us tend to forget that when we watch Singapore Idol. hmmm.. Joakim you are really a nice sweet guy... but sadly, you are quite monotonous in your singing. i guess channel 8 or UTV would welcome you whole-heartedly. Paul, i love your hair texture but the voice is YES only for ROCK... but as a girl who is quite smitten by your unique charm, i think you'd be better off in the TV ad. but i've got to confess. i think i'm in love. with Hady! haahahhahaha. boy! did he rock the house down.. oh wells, i think the majority did well for today's genre. R.O.C.K. and i'll definitely vote for hady, jasmine, jonathan. they deserved.. and as the saying goes, "WA CAYA SAMER LU!" hahahhahaha

anyway.... there's a new HOT movie in bollywood!!!!

kabhi alvida naa kehna.

no idea what the movie is about. but what the heck! so long there's shahrukh khan, rani mukherji, the bachans and preity zinta, count me in baby!

:)

here's the thing. i'm not seeing things as glass half-full these days. computer@home is down. so so down. i guess it's going to take donkey years for brother to fix it. and it doesn't help the fact that certain websites has been barred from my school's webbie eventhough i'm NOT in school uniform and STILL attend school regularly. in addition, after school, i've back-to-back tuition till ten everyday of the friggin week. and soon and soon, my whole hair will turn grey, and then white and then it goes bold.totally BOLD!!!

OKIE.............

STOOOOOPPPPPP!

that's a whole lot of crap. but, thankfully, there are simple simple things to cheer me up. redha's and zikry's winning smile each day before i leave, satanic students greeting "Good Morning, Miss Sofi!" and also, the conversation with dzar which was just so crappy because he called me about SEC 2 HISTORY just to find out an Indian Prince that starts with the letter G, so that he can post it in his blog. (how SIGNIFICANT ...*laughs*)

okie. i change my mind. maybe it's one-quarter full now alright? but someone please spread me the laughters or smiles disease. i'm actually deprive of that, seriously.

su!!!wazzzy!!!omar!!!dzar!!!isk!!! you and you and you!!!

find me my medication. nownownonwonownow

or

i'll be stuck in this asylum "room" forever.

:((((( hahahahhaa

I don't know your face no more
Or feel your touch that I adore
I don't know your face no more
It's just a place I'm looking for
We might as well be strangers in another town
We might as well be living in a different world
We might as well
We might as well
We might as well

I don't know your thoughts these days
We're strangers in an empty space
I don't understand your heart
It's easier to be apart

We might as well be strangers in another town
We might as well be living in a another time
We might as well
We might as well
We might as well be strangers
Be strangers
For all I know of you now
For all I know of you now
For all I know of you now
For all I know

zhenghua sec rocks to the max. and so as the other facilitators for the 3-day motivational workshop. i swear it was the BEST-est workshop i have ever done in my whole entire life. the students were so obedient and enthusiastic bunch and the other facilitators roxx biggg time though most of us were in lost island *laughs* but thankfully, we pulled it off with a BLAST in the end! i was so proud of lala and dzar especially because they did an excellent job in hyping the whole crowd up and debriefing them in a very short, meaningful way. not forgetting my darling su for being ever-so-patient with the students and the whole programme. but other than that she did GREAT!!! bernadine and kavee rocks bigggg time. the students loved them and they really made me miss council.

well, i miss my 4e3 and my crazy partner, mel. hope to see her soon. glad i didn't screw up being the co-MC and dance i/c. but seriously, thanks to lala,su,kavee, bern, taran, mel, jacq, jillian, daniel, glenda, benita, tiffany, shuxian and dzar, it was all good. you guys seriously are the best-est of the best-est:)))))

*hugssssss*

well.. hope to see all of you soon again! and the darlings zhenghua students!
